The Falcons were started in November 2015 by head coach and cornerback Lewis Phillips after graduating from Exeter University. From a small squad, running around in the mud, the Falcons quickly developed into a fully fledged team and after sitting out one season and partaking in an out-of-season competition, the Southwest Series, the Falcons were soon ready to join the rest of the Flag Football Nation and signed up to their first BAFA National League for the 2017 Season, superbly gaining an 8-8 record and missing the playoffs on tiebreaker rules. The Falcons finished 3rd in the 2017/18 Macron Southwest Series. Finishing 2nd in their division in the 2018 BAFA season, the Falcons made the plate playoffs for the first time ever, reaching the final, before eventually losing to the Reading Knights. Exeter entered the 2018/19 Southwest Series with 2 teams – Falcons White and Falcons Black. Falcons White finished with a 7-3 record, and Falcons Black finished with a 5-5 record. The Falcons merged back into one team for the BAFA National League, finishing with a record of 9-6-1, narrowly missing out on the playoffs. We now look forward to the 2019/20 Southwest Series, with fixtures to be released soon.
